
Since graduating with honours from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, David has worked worldwide as a musical director and accompanist, including performances in New Zealand, Australia, the USA, South Africa, Argentina, Cyprus, France, Spain, Jersey, Ireland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong and on a cruise around the Baltic region.
On the concert platform, David has conducted the Welsh Sinfonia, and conducted a massed male choir of over 400 voices, along with a fifty piece orchestra, a school choir and Hayley Westenra at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, as well as a massed children’s choir of 400 with a twenty piece orchestra at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. He was appointed Musical Director of the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir in 2001, and has conducted them live on BBC Grandstand, in front of a capacity crowd at the Arms Park, at the Millennium Stadium and on a TV recording with Goldie Lookin Chain.
David was principal accompanist for Pontarddulais Male Choir for five years, and accompanied them to victory at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod and three wins at the Royal National Eisteddfod. He has also accompanied Katherine Jenkins, Beverley Humphreys, Shân Cothi, Sian Hopkins, Anthony Stuart Lloyd, London Welsh, Dowlais, Wessex and the British and Irish Lions Male Choirs, played the organ in Sydney Opera House and conducted Peter Karrie and Max Boyce. He has also musically directed a number of shows, including Oliver! at the New Theatre, Cardiff, Godspell in Cheltenham and Edinburgh and High School Musical in Treorchy and Brecon. He is well regarded as an arranger and orchestrator, and runs the malevoicechoir.net web site.
David was appointed Musical Director of Dowlais Male Choir in May 2006.
